We're looking for a hands-on General Manager who knows the HVAC supply world, earns contractor trust, and wants to run something that's actually theirs to grow. If you've spent time behind a supply counter or running a branch and you've got the itch to do it somewhere your decisions matter - this is that opportunity.
Here, you would own the daily operations, build lasting relationships with contractors, and grow with us as we scale.
The Role
As General Manager, you're responsible for the full picture — sales, operations, inventory, team development, and customer relationships. You're equally comfortable behind the counter helping a contractor find the right part and sitting down to review P&L and identify where the business can improve.
What You’ll Own
Branch Operations & P&L
- Lead all day-to-day branch operations with full accountability for revenue, margin, and profitability
- Oversee sales, inventory control, purchasing, and customer service functions
- Implement pricing strategies and cost controls to maintain strong gross margins
- Monitor KPIs and branch performance metrics, driving continuous improvement
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of sales and warehouse staff
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-accountability work environment
- Onboard and mentor new hires; set clear performance expectations
Sales & Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local HVAC contractors and key accounts
- Drive repeat business, account retention, and new customer acquisition
- Identify and act on upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on customer needs
- Serve as a knowledgeable counter resource — customers trust your expertise
Inventory & Purchasing
- Manage inventory levels to optimize availability and minimize carrying costs
- Source products and manage vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing
- Implement process improvements to improve operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC/plumbing distribution, wholesale supply, or a related trade industry
- Proven experience managing branch or store operations, including P&L ownership
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC parts and equipment
- Natural leader who develops people and builds team culture
- Customer-first mindset with a track record of growing contractor relationships
- Analytical thinker who uses data to drive decisions
- Self-starter who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with minimal hand-holding
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice To Have
- Prior experience at a wholesale distributor or HVAC supply house
- Experience opening or scaling a branch or new location
- Familiarity with ERP or distribution management software
Compensation & Benefits of Joining Fynex
