- Estimated Hours of Work: 55 hrs per week
- Shift Work Required: Yes, shift work may be required.
- Start Date: Start Date will follow selection process.
Main Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the greenhouse, including planting, maintaining, and harvesting flowers. This role ensures plants are grown under optimal conditions and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Physical Demands: (including but not limited to)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (e.g., trays, bags of soil, plants).
- Perform repetitive hand movements (e.g., planting, pruning, transplanting).
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including high heat, rain, humidity, and cold.
- Use hand tools and operate equipment safely.
- Stamina to work long hours during peak seasons.
Other Requirements
- Basic understanding of plant care (watering, fertilization, pest control).
- Ability to operate irrigation systems and greenhouse climate controls.
- Use of greenhouse tools (pruners, transplanting tools, soil mixers, etc.).
- Basic record-keeping for inventory, plant growth, or pesticide applications.
- Familiarity with handling fertilizers, pesticides, and other greenhouse chemicals.
- Ability to use basic digital tools or software (e.g., tracking inventory, scheduling tasks).
- Fluency in Spanish is a strong asset.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in greenhouse, nursery, or horticulture work.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., rain, cold, heat, humidity).
Schedule
- Morning shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
