Position Overview
Miss Bean Cafe is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Gelato Production Assistant / Line Cook to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys food preparation, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in cleanliness, consistency, and quality.
You will be responsible for assisting with gelato production, ingredient preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining high food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce gelato following recipes and production procedures
- Accurately measure, mix, and prepare ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and workstations
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
- Label, store, and organize products properly
- Monitor product quality, consistency, and freshness
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and ingredient preparation
- Operate kitchen and gelato equipment safely and efficiently
- Support other kitchen and cafe tasks as needed
- Work efficiently during busy production periods while maintaining attention to detail
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous food service, kitchen, bakery, pastry, gelato, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes consistently
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in kitchen and cold production environments
- Weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday) required
- Minimum availability of 30 hours per week preferred
- Hours may vary based on operational needs
- Food Handler Certification is an asset or willingness to obtain before starting
