Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, including skid steers, excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders. This role involves performing various construction tasks with a focus on safety, efficiency, and precision. The successful applicant will contribute to a wide range of projects such as paving, horizontal drilling, and general site development.
Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders and other heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders to perform construction tasks efficiently.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and material handling to ensure project specifications are met.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Support horizontal drilling operations and backhoe activities as needed for various projects.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to all OSHA regulations during operation of machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
- Be able to do some lab work
Requirements
- Proven experience operating skid steers, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, and other heavy construction equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials.
- Familiarity with construction processes including paving, horizontal drilling, and site development.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar brands effectively.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation in construction environments.
- Prior experience with backhoe operation and grader operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment such as dozers and loaders is essential for this role.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and follow detailed instructions accurately.
