LPN: $32.84 - $41.35/hr as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (Grid Level 13-P-LPN)
RN: $44.75 - $55.91/hr as per CSSEA & CSSBA Collective Agreement (Grid Level 16-P-LPN)
Job Summary
Aurora Home is an innovative and state of the art home for adults living with mild to moderate Dementia. It is a pilot project and the first of its kind in BC. The goal of Aurora Home is to assist the individuals to maintain their cognitive capacity and independence for as long as they possibly, before requiring more complex level of care home.
Licensed Practical Nurse: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in Aurora Home at our new Parkview Place facility in accordance with the competency guidelines within the Professional Standards, outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC and the current legislative scope of practice. This includes the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health of clients and prevention, treatment and palliation of illness and injury.
Registered Nurse Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for the work assignments at Parkview Place in the dementia care program accordance with the competency guidelines within the Professional Standards outlined by the BC College of Nurses current legislative scope of practice. This includes the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health of clients and prevention, treatment and palliation of illness and injury. The position provides nursing care to clients with mental and/or physical, behavioural, medical and other problems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing Program or for an Registered Nurse a Degree in Nursing.
- Current Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC) or Registered Nurse, Current Registration with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must be sensitive to & respectful of cultural differences, differences in socio-economic status & lifestyle diversity.
- Knowledge of relevant socio-historical events relevant to Indigenous culture
- Intermediate Computer Skills (moderate understanding of operating systems, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, databases)
Required:
- Valid class 5 driver’s license & satisfactory drivers abstract
- Criminal Record Check clearance
- TB Test
- This position requires union membership
- Food Safe course (Level 1), Valid first aid certificate and CPR
- Must meet immunization requirements in accordance with Ministry of Health and employer policies, and when directed by a medical health officer
