Who We Are
Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.
SFU Sports Medicine oversees the health and safety of our NCAA Division II sports, providing on field injury management, return to play decisions and ongoing treatment. As the only Canadian team in the NCAA we are always striving to excel both on and off the field of play. Our multidisciplinary team of Athletic Therapists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Acupuncturist and massage therapists engages to provide an exceptional student athlete experience.
About the Role
The Traveling Therapist is active in the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic injuries while supporting SFU varsity athletic teams at away games. The Therapist follows protocols to screen and test for serious injuries, such as concussions, and makes decisions regarding an athlete's treatment and readiness to safely return to activity.
