At Fresh St. Market's Produce Department, fresh is our first name, so it goes without saying that we like to show that off. Where we put a spotlight on in-season and locally grown fruits and vegetables. In that spirit of freshness, produce is picked and brought here in a big hurry, so we depend on our exceptional team of Produce Clerks to help us ensure that products are prepared for presentation in our market with that same level of care.
Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Recipe for Success
- Bring a positive attitude every day
- Greeting customers and assisting them with questions, recommendations and reaching for items
- Maintaining suitable inventory levels, receiving deliveries and noting discrepancies
- Stocking produce and rotating fresh fruit and vegetables
- Ensuring all produce is fresh and safe to eat
- Setting up, maintaining and deconstructing product displays
- Maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment
- Following health regulations and safety standards
- Performing any additional duties assigned by the Department Manager
About You:
- You have an impeccable level of cleanliness, attention to detail and organization
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to shifting priorities
- You are highly self-motivated and work well under minimal supervision
- You possess strong customer service skills
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Previous work experience is a plus but not required. If you are willing to learn, we are eager to train you with the skills you need to succeed
- You can work on your feet up to 8 hours in a day
- You have a valid work authorization (i.e., work permit, student permit, PR) in Canada
Physical Requirements of the Job
- You can lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- You can climb up and down ladders.
- You can work on your feet up to 8 hours a day.

The Fine Print:
Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting wage between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the wage range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position. In some circumstances, the new employee may be eligible for compensation beyond the P50 of the salary range. Factors that influence this decision include full job knowledge, qualifications, internal equity, and experience in a similar role.
