As a Privacy & Legal Services Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with privacy legislation, supporting legal processes, and fostering a culture of privacy within the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary privacy compliance lead, maintaining a thorough understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments, develop privacy-related policies, and assist in implementing privacy procedures organization-wide.
- Investigate privacy breaches or incidents, coordinate responses, and liaise with relevant authorities or external partners.
- Manage legal services activities, including documentation, litigation support, and subrogation processes.
- Provide training and awareness programs to promote a privacy-conscious organizational culture.
- Collect, analyze, and report on privacy metrics and assist in audit preparations.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience related to privacy compliance, legal services, or a similar role.
- A two to three-year technical or community college diploma or certificate.
- Strong knowledge of privacy legislation and legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and tactfully.
- Competence in MS Office applications and familiarity with privacy management tools.
- Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Experience supporting legal proceedings or managing breach response protocols is an asset.
- Knowledge of subrogation, insurance interactions, or legal documentation procedures is an asset.
