Better Choice Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) firm in Victoria, BC for a Financial Insolvency Administrator – Trainee. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting or bookkeeping professional looking to build a long-term career in the specialized field of insolvency administration.
This is not a traditional bookkeeping or accounting role. Insolvency administration combines accounting, taxation, law, financial analysis, negotiation, and client service. Every file is unique, offering a challenging and rewarding work environment with ongoing learning opportunities.
Comprehensive training in insolvency procedures and legislation will be provided. Previous insolvency experience is not required.
Location: Victoria (In-person)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with client intake and financial information gathering
- Prepare insolvency documentation and regulatory forms
- Support consumer proposal, bankruptcy, and insolvency files
- Review financial records and perform reconciliations
- Assist with T1/T2 tax preparation and related reporting
- Draft professional correspondence and maintain accurate records
- Provide general administrative support
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Canadian accounting, bookkeeping, or related office experience
- Experience preparing T1 and/or T2 tax returns
- Knowledge of GST filings and financial statements
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and learn new systems
Assets
- Bookkeeping or accounting background
- Bank reconciliation experience
- Experience in legal, banking, insurance, or financial services
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration
