EXECUTIVE CHEF - Seasonal
Mansfield Ski Club | Mulmur, Ontario
Mansfield Ski Club is seeking an experienced, hands-on Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations and help shape the next chapter of food and beverage at the Club.
Mansfield is a private ski club known for its strong sense of community, family atmosphere, and exceptional experiences both on and off-hill. Beginning with the 2026/27 ski season, our food and beverage operation is moving away from an outside catering company and moving completely
in-house. This change is creating an exciting opportunity for an Executive Chef to build and lead a culinary program focused on quality, consistency, efficiency, and member experience.
The Opportunity
This is a leadership role for a chef who enjoys great food but also understands the business behind a successful kitchen. The Executive Chef will report directly to the Food & Beverage Director and work closely with the Club's management team to deliver a high-quality, consistent food experience for members and guests.
The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary and back-of-house operations, including menu development, kitchen staffing, food quality, purchasing, inventory, food costs and execution.
Our operation ranges from busy ski-day breakfasts and lunches to après ski, dinners, member functions, race events, special events and corporate functions.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing a menu, coaching a team, managing costs and jumping onto the line during a busy Saturday service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all kitchen and culinary operations at Mansfield Ski Club
- Develop seasonal menus that balance quality, value, variety and operational efficiency
- Recruit, train, schedule and lead kitchen staff
- Establish recipes, portion standards and consistent food presentation
- Manage purchasing, receiving, inventory and supplier relationships
- Monitor food and labour costs and work within established budgets
- Implement strong inventory controls and minimize food waste
- Maintain high standards for food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organization
- Plan and execute menus for member events, après ski, race events and private/corporate functions
- Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage Director, front-of-house team and Club management
- Prepare the operation for high-volume weekends and holiday periods
- Help develop the Club's food and beverage program as the in-house operation grows
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a leader, not simply a great cook. The successful candidate will bring strong culinary skills along with the organization and financial discipline required to run a successful kitchen.
Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef or senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant, resort, private club, hotel or similar environment is preferred. Strong leadership, menu development, purchasing and food-cost management skills are important.
Experience managing seasonal operations and significant fluctuations in volume would be an asset.
As a private ski club, Mansfield’s busiest periods occur on weekends and during the holiday breaks throughout the winter season. Regular availability to work these timeframes is a requirement of this position. (The Club is closed on Christmas Day.)
Why Mansfield?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a culinary program at an established private club while we bring our food and beverage operation in-house.
You will have the opportunity to influence menus, systems, staffing and the overall direction of the program rather than simply stepping into an existing restaurant concept.
We offer a unique working environment, a strong member community and the opportunity to build something that becomes an important part of the Mansfield experience.
