Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural Steel & Miscellaneous Metals Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will help drive successful project bids and support the overall growth of our construction operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Utilize estimating software Tekla Powerfab, Sketckdeck AI and Bluebeam to compile and manage estimates efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and negotiate pricing terms.
- Analyze subcontractor quotes and supplier pricing to ensure competitive yet profitable bids.
- Assist in value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, bid documentation, and correspondence for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Excellent project management abilities to coordinate multiple estimates simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes related to structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
- Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scope of work interpretation.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Construction experience with a focus on steel fabrication or erection is highly desirable.
