Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Youth Crime Prevention Manager this position assists and supports Strengthening Community Readiness (Strategic Planning) and Wellness Programming (counselling, cultural, recreational and job skill) components with the goal of developing cultural connections and prosocial skills to reduce violence among its youth and meet project deliverables.
The primary functions of the position are to: (1) provide administrative assistance to the Youth Crime Prevention Manager to fulfill project deliverables and strategic initiatives as per the Lil’wat Nation Youth Strategic Plan, and
(2) work with the Youth Program Coordinator to support and coordinate delivery of the program(s).
Key Deliverables and Expectations:

Type and proof correspondence including emails, summaries/narratives, posters as required.

Intervenes and provides guidance in individual and/or group settings.

Help identify and support the preparation and submission of funding proposals.

File quarterly reports to funders, maintain files, and keep administrative aspects of program up to date.

Coordinate or create schedules amongst the team to implement the program.

Network and collaborate with internal/external partners to provide services to youth.

Provide input to Stakeholder/Youth Program Planning by attending and/or coordinating meetings and research.

Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
-
Minimum of high school diploma. Certification in an area related to the program, such as Office Administration, Project Management, Education, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience managing a program’s budget, following financial controls and ensure the program meets the project deliverables and the strategic initiatives.

Previous experience in the following areas would be an asset - creating program budgets; monthly/annual work plans; stakeholder/committee experience; group/individual facilitation skills; and program implementation/or coordination.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.

Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated basic accounting; eRequester experience an asset.

Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.

Act in the strictest confidentiality and professional manner always, including outside regular working hours.

Willingness to work flexible hours and travel within St’at’imc, S2S and Greater Vancouver areas.

Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license, insurance, a clean Driver’s Abstract and a reliable vehicle.

Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector.
