ITN Food Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Quality Assurance & Supervisor to oversee food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and audit-readiness activities at our Woodbridge – Vaughan facility.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for ensuring that quality and food safety programs are properly implemented, maintained, documented, and followed across production, warehouse, and distribution operations. The role also requires strong people skills, with the ability to guide, educate, and influence cross-functional teams on food safety, GMP, sanitation, hygiene, documentation, and compliance expectations.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a lean operational environment and taking direct ownership of day-to-day quality execution, handle CFIA-related matters independently, regulatory inspections, internal audits, sanitation verification, customer complaints, corrective actions, and compliance documentation.

Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee the company’s quality, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance programs. This role requires practical hands-on involvement, strong documentation discipline, and the ability to work closely with operations, production, warehouse, procurement, sanitation, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate requirements clearly, train and guide operational teams, and follow up professionally to ensure compliance is understood and consistently applied across departments.
The role requires prior experience independently handling CFIA inspections, regulatory follow-up, compliance documentation, and related food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee and coordinate quality assurance, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance activities.
· Act as the primary operational lead for CFIA-related matters, including inspection readiness, regulatory documentation, follow-up actions, compliance requirements, and use of relevant CFIA portals or systems.
· Support and maintain food safety management systems, including HACCP, GMP, and certification programs such as SQF or BRC where applicable.
· Prepare for and coordinate third-party audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal quality audits.
· Maintain food testing and quality verification processes, including microbiological sampling, environmental monitoring, product inspections, and sanitation verification.
· Ensure compliance with applicable food labelling regulations and requirements of CFIA, Health Canada, Agriculture Canada, US FDA, and other relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
· Develop, maintain, and review quality assurance procedures, SOPs, forms, logs, specifications, and food safety documentation.
· Coordinate GMP compliance, sanitation practices, hygiene standards, allergen controls, foreign material controls, pest control follow-up, and facility inspection activities.
· Monitor production quality records, inspection logs, sanitation records, corrective action reports, traceability documents, and related operational reports.
· Conduct routine facility inspections, environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and workplace quality/safety observations.
· Work with production, warehouse, procurement, maintenance, sanitation, and operations teams to maintain quality and food safety standards.
· Guide and educate production, warehouse, sanitation, and operations teams on GMP, food safety procedures, hygiene practices, documentation requirements, allergen controls, sanitation expectations, and corrective action follow-up.
· Communicate non-compliance findings clearly and professionally, ensuring team members understand required corrective actions and timelines.
· Investigate food safety incidents, product quality issues, damages, non-conformances, customer complaints, and regulatory concerns, ensuring proper documentation and corrective actions.
· Support product holds, releases, withdrawals, mock recalls, traceability exercises, and related compliance activities.
· Participate in food safety training, GMP awareness, sanitation training, and quality communication initiatives.
· Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements to strengthen compliance, audit readiness, product quality, and operational discipline.
· Perform other related responsibilities supporting the quality, food safety, regulatory, and operational objectives of the company.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.
· 4 - 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or production/distribution quality environments.
· Prior experience independently dealing with CFIA is required, including inspection support, regulatory follow-up, compliance documentation, and familiarity with CFIA portals or related regulatory systems.
· Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, sanitation programs, food safety risk management, traceability, corrective actions, and quality management systems such as SQF or BRC.
· Familiarity with Canadian food regulatory requirements, including CFIA and related food safety, labelling, import, and inspection standards.
· Experience with internal audits, third-party audits, environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, sanitation verification, product inspections, and quality documentation.
· Ability to work hands-on in a lean operational environment and directly support quality, food safety, sanitation, and compliance execution.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for maintaining records, reports, logs, compliance documentation, and audit files.
· Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, follow-up, and documentation skills.
· Effective communication and coordination skills when working with operations, production, warehouse, procurement, external auditors, inspectors, and management.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, guide, and influence cross-functional teams while maintaining professional working relationships.
· Ability to explain compliance requirements in a practical manner to production, warehouse, sanitation, and operations employees.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
