Salary Range:$29.47 to $30.42 per hour
Qualifications and Experience:
- Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma, Degree or approved equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children from infancy to 12 years.
- Must be a registered member in good standing with the College of ECE
- Excellent understanding of Childcare and Early Years Act 2014 and Toronto Operating Criteria
- Working knowledge of Early Learning Framework (ELF), Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and How Does Learning Happen?
- Demonstrated ability to implement Emergent Curriculum centered around children’s’ interests.
- Experience working with children with varied abilities.
- Ability to interpret and comply with LEF policies and procedures.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills that foster collaborative, nurturing relationship with children, parents, and peers
- Ability to use tact, discretion and good judgment that facilitates solution focused interactions and problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, flexibility and adaptability when handling unpredictable situations.
- Works independently, as well as contribute as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
- A working understanding of technology and a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have up to date documentation required by the Ministry of Education and Public health: membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators, current certifications (First Aid CPR Level C,) and immunizations and a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds.
