Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/Receptionist to join our team at Joe & Co. and Lola Lash Bar. The Joe & Co. cafe is located inside the Lola Lash Bar Marda Loop location and offers a patio space. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and matcha and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Your role will involve utilizing POS systems, managing orders efficiently, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, matcha, iced lattes, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences
- Operate POS systems for order processing and cash handling of all clients
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area and salon
- Adhere to food safety guidelines during food preparation and handling
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while following proper cashiering procedures
Requirements
- Previous barista or coffee experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a positive experience for guests
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety practices in the food industry
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work Schedule (~17 hours/week)
Friday 1:15pm-6:15pm
Saturday 11am-6:15pm
Sunday 10:45am-3:45pm
There may be extra shifts available to cover co-workers and for pop-ups. THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION UNTIL OCTOBER. It may turn into a full-time position at that point.
