As part of our growing Recreation team, the Activity Assistant plays a key role in bringing our “culture of caring and service” to life. You will help create engaging experiences that support residents’ social, emotional, and physical well-being—making each day enjoyable, purposeful, and fun.
This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, energetic, and passionate about contributing to a vibrant community environment.
Duties
- Assist with the setup, delivery, and clean-up of daily recreation programs, events, and activities.
- Engage warmly with residents, offering encouragement, companionship, and support.
- Help ensure recreation spaces are safe, organized, and welcoming.
- Escort or assist residents to and from programs, providing comfort and reassurance along the way.
- Support the Recreation Manager/Coordinator with program planning, materials preparation, and new activity ideas.
- Assist with light administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and program documentation.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate resident needs and schedules.
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures to support resident well-being.

- A warm, friendly, and patient approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a genuine passion for helping seniors feel connected and valued.
- Comfort interacting with residents of varying abilities and interests.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain positive in a lively environment.
- Dependability and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy (email, calendars, documentation) is an asset.
- Experience in recreation, hospitality, or senior living is helpful but not required—training will be provided.
