We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage our end-to-end payroll operations. You will be responsible for ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and on time, while maintaining 100% compliance with federal and provincial regulations. Beyond processing, you will act as a strategic partner to HR and Finance by leveraging payroll data to provide insights into labor costs and workforce trends.
This role is located in SW Calgary and is a temporary 1 year contract.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with running full-cycle payroll semimonthly using ADP Workforce Now
- Calculate and verify gross-to-net pay, including overtime, bonuses and commissions.
- Process new hires, terminations, and status changes in the payroll system.
- Manage Records of Employment (ROE) and other government-mandated filings.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with APD Workforce Now is highly preferred.
- Extreme Attention to Detail: A "zero-error" mindset when handling financial data.
- Ability to handle sensitive personal and financial information with the highest level of integrity.
- Proven ability to meet strict, non-negotiable deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to explain complex payroll or tax concepts to employees in simple, clear terms.
Education & Experience
- Education: Education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification: Professional designation is highly preferred (e.g., PCP/PLP)
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a dedicated payroll role, with preference for Automotive industry
