We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser Candidate. Responsibilities
- Assist with collecting comprehensive data on commercial properties, including physical characteristics, location details, and market conditions
- Support the preparation of appraisal reports by gathering relevant financial and property information
- Conduct basic market research to understand current trends affecting property values
- Help analyze property data using mathematical and accounting principles to support valuation estimates
- Participate in site visits under supervision to observe property conditions and gather necessary information
- Maintain organized records/databases of all data collected and ensure accuracy for reporting purposes
- Collaborate with senior appraisers to learn industry best practices and improve appraisal techniques
Skills
- Undergraduate university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Preference is given to business, commerce, or related degrees that support an expedited path toward the AACI — Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute designation.
- For experienced applicants: current AIC Candidate Membership and demonstrated progress toward the AACI designation, with relevant commercial appraisal experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfort adopting new technology and analytical tools is a strong asset.
- Strong affinity for analytics, research, and report writing; detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated with a consistently professional demeanor.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a reliable mode of transportation.
- Willingness to maintain (or obtain) membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada and to complete the required course work toward the AACI designation.
