Redfab Inc. is a growing AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of niche aerospace and industrial safety components based in Orillia, Ontario. We deliver an exceptional customer experience, and we are committed to giving our employees that same experience.
The Opportunity
We need immediate help to catch up on a backlog of orders. We are hiring right away, with a target start date between July 20 and July 29. Training begins immediately, and we aim to have you up to speed within one week.
This role suits an entry-level operator or someone with sewing experience on industrial or residential machines. We will train the right person. If you can wind a bobbin, thread a needle, and line up fabrics, you already have a head start.
Duties include operating industrial sewing machines (including a programmable JUKI DDL9010H single-needle machine), finishing work, packaging, operating an automatic grommet press, and product quality checks.
Hours
- Training period (first 5 to 6 weeks): approximately 30 to 35 hours per week, weekdays, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, working alongside our team.
- After training: flexible, self-directed hours at approximately 25 to 35 hours per week. Work at your own pace, on your own schedule.
- Monday to Friday. No weekends.
What We Are Looking For
Attitude matters most. We want someone with a willingness to work hard, a willingness to learn, and a willingness to accept constructive feedback.
- Attention to detail. This is the single biggest factor we look for.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods. All of our machines, equipment, and fixtures are ergonomically engineered for stand-up operation only. We believe standing work is better for your health and wellness, and we take employee safety and wellness seriously.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Sewing experience is an asset but not required. We can train.
- English is not required. We can work with translation tools. What matters is your work, not your words.
Quality Responsibility
We operate under an AS9100 aerospace quality management system. You will receive immediate training on our quality system, and a core part of this role is accepting personal responsibility for the quality and safety of the products you make. If you take pride in doing things right, you will fit in here.
Pay and Perks
- Entry level: $18.10 per hour to start, with the potential for a rapid increase to approximately $20.00 per hour, plus potential performance bonuses.
- Experienced operators: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Casual dress code. Running shoes welcome.
- Flexible schedule after training.
