1-Ton Picker Truck Operator / Equipment Delivery Driver
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused 1-Ton Picker Truck Operator / Equipment Delivery Driver to join our team.
This position involves operating a 1-ton picker truck to deliver and pick up equipment at customer and job sites. This is a hands-on role that combines commercial driving with physical work, including loading and unloading equipment, assisting with temporary fence installation and removal, and supporting general yard and field operations.
This is not a heavy crane operator position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating a 1-ton picker truck, towing trailers, handling equipment safely, and working as part of a team. Experience operating a picker truck is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate with the appropriate driving and equipment-handling experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 1-ton picker truck to transport equipment and materials.
- Deliver and pick up equipment from customer locations and job sites.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment using trailers.
- Assist with temporary fence installation and removal, including handling and moving equipment and materials.
- Support yard and deck operations, including staging, organizing, and preparing equipment for delivery.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and required documentation.
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, transportation regulations, and safe work procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience operating a 1-ton picker truck or similar commercial vehicle is preferred.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Experience towing and maneuvering trailers.
- Knowledge of proper load securement and safe equipment handling practices.
- Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and assisting with equipment and fence setup.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with construction, rental, or industrial equipment are considered assets.
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Safety-focused attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
