Retail and Reception Associate - Parttime
Join our team at WOW! Factor Desserts as a Retail & Reception Associate, where you’ll create exceptional customer experiences in-store and at events. This position works at both of our retail locations in Alberta, providing diverse support for all retail and sales initiatives. From serving customers and building external relationships to supporting creative marketing initiatives, this role offers a little bit of everything!

Role Responsibilities
Retail Associate: Greet and welcome customers into the store. Assist them with any questions and in providing accurate product information. Process transactions and daily sales reports. Confirm and prepare third party delivery orders.
Area maintenance: Maintain store cleanliness, work with other retail staff to ensure all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks are completed. Assist with changing seasonal decorations. Have the necessary flyers and advertising available in the retail area as needed.
Cash Handling: Complete daily cashout, help with finalizing the deposit and taking it to the bank as needed.
Inventory Management: Place orders to keep the ice cream freezer stocked, place orders based on items that sell well. Communicate with the Sherwood Park location to ensure cakes are appropriately stocked, and the store is prepared for thrift days and sales. Prepare pick sheets to ensure inventory is managed. Perform inventory control by following set FIFO procedures, restocking, and tracking.
Cake Preparation: Build pre-designed variety boxes, or unique orders ahead of time to ensure timely transactions and overall preparedness.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about new and discontinued products to best support customer inquiries.
Reception: Answer, screen, and redirect calls as needed. Answer customer questions and inquiries related to retail who phone the store(s). Work with leadership and providers to block recurring spam phone calls. Manage internal phone list.
Food Shows: Assist in the preparation for food shows as needed.
Samples: Prepare samples and sample kits for the retail area, food shows, and customers as needed. Ensure any request or order for samples is complete and accurate. Maintain consistent presentation and portion control.
Additional Duties: As opportunities and needs arise, responsibilities may include other tasks not listed above to support the team and contribute to WOW! Factor Desserts' success.
Education & Experience
· Minimum 2 years experience in customer service role.
· Previous experience in a reception or administrative role is an asset.
· Experience working with a POS, EAP, and Microsoft Suite preferred.
· Must hold a valid Class 5 driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Working Conditions
This position primarily works out of our Edmonton retail location (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and secondarily out of our Sherwood Park location (Wednesday). The hours of work are 1-5pm.
This role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up-to 25lbs. Our products are stored in an industrial freezer, the ability to go in and out of the cold environment is required, this includes some longer durations to assist in the organization of the product. Some driving within the Edmonton/Sherwood area may be required for this role. Day-to-day of this position may look different depending on operational needs.
What Makes You a Great Match?

- Comfortable with technology, able to learn systems, stay on top of social media trends, and operate a POS.
- Previous experience supporting B2B relationships is an asset.
