We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced individual to provide PSW-level home support for an elderly family member in Whitby.
This role involves care across two nearby family homes (Grandma’s home and a family member’s home).
Duties include:
- Support with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a home setting
- Medication reminders and assistance with routine medication support (within caregiver scope and comfort level)
- Meal planning and preparation
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
- Companionship and wellness check-ins to support independence and quality of life
- Supporting daily routines consistent with PSW-type care in a private home setting
We are looking to begin with approximately 4 hours per day, 3 days per week, with eventually increasing to full-time hours, and potentially transitioning to a live-in arrangement, depending on how our circumstances progress.
This is a family-centred care setting. There is a strong family presence nearby, and family members will be in the home consistently during the early stage of care to support safety, comfort, and relationship-building with the caregiver.
Requirements:
- Experience in PSW work, home care support, elder care, or similar caregiving roles
- Comfortable providing support with daily personal care routines and medication reminders
- Female caregiver required due to client comfort and care needs
- References are required
- Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory
- Reliable, compassionate, and strong communication skills
**Interview availability:**
Interviews will be held Thursdays and Fridays only, ideally in the evenings, though daytime availability may occasionally be possible.
