Overview
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Prep & Line Cooks to join our dynamic culinary team for brunch and dinner. The positions available will be for both day and evening shifts as well as part time and full time. The ideal candidates will have some administrative abilities, with the ability to write prep lists, par lists, line set up and task delegation. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is 100% necessary and a strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as per recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks to support the cooking team during service hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and storage areas in compliance with food safety protocols
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Support meal preparation by assembling dishes and garnishes as needed
- Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, and cooking within a restaurant or food service environment 100% necessary
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and kitchen sanitation practices
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory for highly motivated learners
