ABOUT THE BUSY SCHOOL
The BUSY School Calgary is a newly approved Charter School opening in August 2026, created to re-engage young people in Grades 10 to 12 who have stepped away from traditional education. We combine a high school diploma pathway with real-world vocational training, giving students the skills, confidence, and connections they need to launch into meaningful careers. We are mission-driven, relationship-first, and genuinely different.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Curriculum Coordinator, you will be the instructional heartbeat of The BUSY School Calgary. Working closely with the Principal, you will oversee Alberta Curriculum compliance, guide teacher practice, lead assessment and reporting frameworks, and ensure every student has access to a learning program tailored to their needs. You will also carry a reduced teaching load, keeping you genuinely connected to students and classroom realities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide expert oversight of Alberta Curriculum requirements and assessment practices
- Mentor and coach teachers to develop differentiated, high-impact learning programs
- Lead curriculum meetings and support teachers in planning and reflection
- Manage the Student Information System and oversee student data and progress reporting
- Develop and evaluate programs for students requiring educational adjustments
- Support the effective use of Educational Technologies and the school Learning Management System
- Teach on a reduced basis as negotiated with the Principal
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A bachelor's degree in education or equivalent qualification for secondary teaching
- Extensive knowledge of the Alberta Curriculum and curriculum leadership experience
- Proven ability to mentor teachers and model quality pedagogy
- Experience with Educational Technologies, Learning Management Systems, and multimedia learning tools
- Strong communication, organisational, and documentation skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional learning
