SMS is looking for a Reman Coordinator to support the day-to-day coordination of activities within our Remanufacturing department. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient, economical operations through strong planning, coordination, and customer service, while working closely with shop teams and internal partners.
Work Location: Acheson, AB.
Salary: $60,000 to $68,000 per annum.
Work Arrangement: Fixed on site – working from the shop each day.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate shop planning and scheduling activities, including managing sublet work in progress (WIP) with expeditors and vendors to establish job priorities and completion dates.
- Support workflow efficiency by assisting expeditors with bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions.
- Analyze work scopes to determine methods and craft requirements, issue sub-orders, and maintain overall job coordination responsibility.
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates and customer quotations using simplified maintenance standards, historical data, and experience-based approximations.
- Manage all third-party repair work (sublets) in alignment with work order requirements.
- Establish and maintain parts within SMS Equipment work orders during component repair processing.
- Liaise with expeditors and inventory analysts to monitor and address backordered parts impacting jobs.
- Enter time for hourly employees into eXtend accurately and on time.
- Support the Senior Coordinator, Reman by updating ISO documentation using historical job scopes and technical documentation.
What You Bring:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a shop environment, along with the ability to build strong customer relationships and consistently meet customer needs. They will bring excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Other requirements include:
- Proven organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Highly developed customer relationship management skills, both internal and external.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System environment (such as ISO 9001) is an asset.
- Warranty experience is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Lean Production Methodology is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Access, and Word.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance planning and work order management software is an asset.
- eXtend system knowledge is an asset.
