Our client is searching for an HVAC/R Field Service Technician to join our Technical Service team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, install, commission, and maintain commercial refrigeration and electromechanical equipment while providing exceptional technical support to customers and service partners across North America.
This position is ideal for a senior technician looking to expand into a technical leadership role. While there are no direct reports, you will act as a technical resource by supporting and mentoring a team of field technicians, assisting with complex troubleshooting, product updates, and technical training.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration and electromechanical equipment.
- Perform equipment installations, commissioning, testing, and customer training.
- Respond to technical service requests from customers and authorized service partners.
- Support field technicians with complex repairs, technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting.
- Review work orders, service reports, and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate warranty repairs, equipment upgrades, retrofits, and special projects.
- Prepare and maintain demonstration equipment and spare parts inventory.
- Assist with technical documentation, service manuals, and product updates.
- Deliver technical training to internal technicians and service partners.
- Travel throughout Canada and the U.S. to provide field service support, installations, and training.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience as an HVACR, Commercial Refrigeration, or Field Service Technician.
- Background in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, electromechanical, foodservice equipment, or commercial appliance repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience with installations, preventive maintenance, commissioning, and warranty service.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple service priorities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 20% across Canada and the U.S.
- Refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, or related trade certification is considered an asset.
