The Old City Station Pub is seeking a dedicated Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are consistently maintained in our kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigerators and storage areas.
- Adhere to food safety standards and procedures, including Foodsafe guidelines, to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
- Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and storage.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient and timely service.
- Follow established portion control guidelines to minimize waste and ensure consistency.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation by providing input and ideas based on industry trends and customer preferences.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures, including Foodsafe certification.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
