JOB DESCRIPTION:
360 Surveys is hiring a SURVEY LEAD.
THIS IS NOT A FLY IN FLY OUT POSITION.
The job location is Valentine Lake Gold Mine in Central Newfoundland and the project includes upgrading the main access road to the site, building sediment ponds, concrete work, survey support for mine operations as needed and various other projects throughout the year. Experience with Trimble survey equipment is necessary.
This job requires a strong work ethic and the drive to get tasks completed quickly and efficiently. The survey lead will work with clients and crews to establish a plan forward and execute that plan. This position requires the applicant to complete field and office tasks as needed.
Note: Applicants will be working a 2 and 2 shift with camp accommodations provided.
Duties:
- Attend client meetings and give field updates.
- Ability to complete various takeoffs and reports at the clients request.
- Ability to use Civil3D and Trimble Business Center to complete volume takeoffs.
- 3+ years construction survey experience with leading a crew.
- GPS and Total Station experience a must.
- Drone license and flight experience an asset.
- Able to read and comprehend engineering plans, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to confidently troubleshoot and maintain survey equipment & vehicles.
- Accurately record survey data, perform quality checks, and organize survey data.
- Effectively communicate with Managers/Supervisors.
- Capable of walking, kneeling, bending repeatedly and be in good physical health.
- Complete tasks safely and be mindful of site-specific safety rules.
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions (snow, rain, hot, cold).Qualifications:
- Completed civil engineering/geomatics diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent GPS and Total Station skills, preferably Trimble.
- Experience with construction layout, slope staking, asbuilts and occasional field fits.
- Experience importing/exporting survey data daily.
- Experience using csv, dxf, and ttm files for layout.
- Possess effective communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Job Hours: Typically, 12 hr days (Overtime depends on weekly hours worked)
