Job Summary
Canadian Feed Screws is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Honing Machine Operator to operate and maintain an Ohio Tool Works honing machine for precision finishing of barrels and machined components. The ideal candidate will have machining experience, understand close tolerances, and be comfortable working with precision measuring equipment to ensure high-quality finished products.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor Ohio Tool Works honing machines to achieve required bore size, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances.
- Hone precision components including barrels, and industrial machined parts according to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and manufacturing specifications.
- Select proper tooling, abrasives, fixtures, and machine parameters based on material and job requirements.
- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and tight tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of honing equipment.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a honing machine or related machining equipment preferred.
- Experience with Ohio Tool Works honing equipment is considered an asset.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand precision tolerances.
- Strong knowledge of measuring tools and inspection procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as required.
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
