Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry work. The Mason will be responsible for constructing, restoring, and renovating structures using various materials such as brick, stone, and concrete. This role requires proficiency in both hand tools and power tools, as well as the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary.
Responsibilities :
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as mortar and concrete
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare and clean surfaces for masonry work
- Assist in setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
- Cut bricks and stones using hand or power tools as directed
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during construction projects.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to achieve project goals within deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry work or similar role.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels.
- Experience with power tools including saws, drills, and mixers is essential.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Valid certification cards (WHMIS, working in heights, forklift)
