The Manager is part of the STH P3 and Facility Operations in the Finance Branch, reports to the Director Stanton P3 and Facility Operations and is located in Yellowknife.
The scope of duties for the Manager, STH Facility Services includes operational contract management, direct maintenance when required, facility fleet management, and emergency preparedness, environmental management, shipping/receiving, management of contracted services at STH. The Manager collaborates with other departments and non-government organizations within the region and across the GNWT to ensure service delivery and to meet the requirements of the organization.
The Manager, STH Facility Services provides direction and management of services on STH facility and equipment assets valued at $125 Million. Services under this position include:

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of hospital facilities and technology and the skills to manage operational and technical issues.

Knowledge of health centre and long-term care facilities and technology to manage operational and technical issues.

Knowledge and skills relating to mechanical and building systems.
-
Financial management skills, including project cost tracking, budgets, and variance reporting.
Typically attained by:
Technical preparation at the diploma or certificate level in the field of mechanical or power plant engineering technology; minimum of a 3rd class power engineering certificate of competency; and five (5) years of related work experience, providing technical and facility planning supports, operational, project and contract management, including one (1) year of supervisory or leading a team, and two (2) years experience within an acute care hospital setting.
