We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator / Office Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an energetic individual who wants to build a long-term career in the construction industry and grow into a key role within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit tender and bid documents.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with the preparation of accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare professional written submissions, methodologies, and essays describing construction processes, project phasing, scheduling, logistics, sequencing, risk mitigation strategies, and approaches to project delivery.
- Develop responses to RFP and RFQ evaluation criteria, demonstrating a clear understanding of project requirements and construction methodology.
- Follow up with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients regarding pricing and project information.
- Coordinate communication between project managers, site staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Maintain organized project files, tender databases, and project documentation.
- Assist with office administration and customer service functions.
- Research and utilize AI tools to improve estimating, proposal writing, scheduling, and office efficiency.
Qualifications
- Must have lived in Canada for the past three years. Exceptions may be considered for outstanding candidates with extensive construction experience.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (native or near-native proficiency).
- Strong essay and business writing abilities.
- Thorough understanding of construction and renovation processes; hands-on construction experience is considered a strong asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and courteous communication skills.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
