Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our construction team. Our team works 4-10 hour days per week with three day weekends or the option for overtime. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive carpentry expertise, including blueprint reading, concrete forming, and wood framing. Equipment operating experience and civil knowledge is considered an asset. This role requires a professional with strong technical skills, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver durable and precise construction solutions. Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate project execution.
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures using hand tools, and power tools.
- Perform various construction tasks in the residential, commercial and industrial field
- Assist in the assembly of structural components and perform heavy lifting safely to support project needs.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment; identify potential hazards on-site.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately for precise construction outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members on-site to ensure timely completion of projects within specifications.
- Maintain clean work areas and ensure tools and materials are properly stored after use.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter or in a similar construction role with comprehensive carpentry skills.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Skilled in concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding installation, tile laying, cabinetry installation, and woodworking techniques.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures related to construction sites.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Handyman experience or background in restoration projects is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license is preferred; reliable transportation is necessary for job site access.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to follow schematics accurately.
