Job Description:
BLM Construction and Rail Services is looking for talented Equipment Operators. Currently in need of an all-around Finish Level Equipment Operator willing to travel and haul said equipment throughout Alberta and the surrounding Provinces. You would be responsible for running equipment such as Skid Steers, 5-8ton Excavators, Rubber Tire Backhoes, and various truck-trailer combos as an operator. BLM Construction and Rail Services is a family-owned and operated company seeking to expand its team with reliable, hard-working, and motivated individuals.
The position is Full-Time at a competitive wage depending on experience. The schedule ranges from 8-12 hour days and requires weekend availability.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operating equipment in a safe and efficient matter
- Trenching, back-filling, lifting loads, building retaining walls, finish grading, etc
- Conducting pre and post-operating checks on equipment
- Lubricating, cleaning, and basic maintenance of equipment
- Transporting equipment to and from sites
- Assist with labor and “out of machine” duties
- Adhere to all company and legislative policies
- Complete required safety paperwork
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment
Experience:
- Required a minimum Class 5 License.
- 3 - 5 years of Equipment Operating experience is suggested but BLM Construction is willing to train you if you fit the company's values.
- Grading, excavating, trenching, and bulk ground moving experience is preferred
- Experience hauling and moving heavy equipment
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
