AMIA Health is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation organization providing assessment and treatment services across British Columbia and Ontario, with BC teams in Victoria, Vancouver, and the Interior.
Our team includes registered psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, kinesiologists, and clinical counsellors. We treat adult and pediatric clients recovering from injury, illness, and developmental conditions, working closely with physicians and medical specialists throughout the course of care. Our practice is built on current evidence, careful clinical reasoning, and measurable functional outcomes for the people we treat.
Our Victoria location is co-located with Neuromotion, which extends our collaborative capacity across rehabilitation disciplines.
The Opportunity
We are seeking Registered Psychologists to join our BC team on a contract basis.
This is a treatment focused role within a rehabilitation setting. You will work with clients whose psychological presentation sits alongside physical recovery, functional limitation, and disrupted daily life, and you will follow them through the course of treatment rather than seeing them once for an opinion.
Depending on your training and declared area of practice, your work may involve psychological treatment following injury, motor vehicle collision, or concussion; treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression; pain related distress and fear of movement; adjustment to disability and changed identity; sleep and fatigue management; return to work and return to school support; and psychological assessment, where it guides the treatment plan.
Our pediatric program offers scope for developmental and psychoeducational assessment, treatment of anxiety and behavioural presentations, and consultation with families and schools.
You will work alongside occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, kinesiologists, and clinical counsellors on shared clients. Cross discipline consultation is a normal part of how we plan and adjust treatment.
Clinicians with research interests are welcome to contribute to our clinical research initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Provide psychological treatment to adult and pediatric clients across clinic, home, and community settings
- Complete psychological, cognitive, and developmental assessments that inform treatment planning and rehabilitation goals
- Develop and progress individualized treatment plans with clients and their families
- Track outcomes using standardized measures and adjust intervention based on client response
- Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, kinesiology, counselling, and treating physicians on integrated care plans
- Consult with families, caregivers, educators, and employers where it supports the client's goals
- Provide clinical supervision or consultation to team members, where your licence and experience allow
- Document treatment clearly and to professional, privacy, and funder standards
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical program development
- Contribute to clinical research initiatives (optional)
What You Bring
Required
- Full Psychologist licence with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC), or eligibility to obtain one
- Doctoral degree in clinical, counselling, or a related area of professional psychology, with a completed pre-doctoral internship
- A declared area of practice consistent with the clinical work described above
- Professional liability insurance
- Training in evidence-based psychological interventions
- Sound clinical reasoning and clear written communication
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while contributing to a collaborative team
Assets
- Experience in rehabilitation, health, or trauma psychology, or with clients recovering from injury
- Training in CBT, ACT, EMDR, or other structured treatment approaches
- Experience with concussion, chronic pain, or adjustment to disability
- Experience with pediatric or developmental populations
- Familiarity with standardized psychological, cognitive, and developmental measures
- Comfort working within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
- Interest in mentorship, program development, or clinical research
Pay: From $172.50 per hour
