Position Overview:
Join the team at Brookside Family Dental Chatham as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become part of a supportive, patient focused practice that values both clinical excellence and a positive workplace culture.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Hygienist who is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. In this role, you will provide preventive hygiene care, perform periodontal assessments, deliver scaling and root planning, and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices. You will play an important role in supporting overall patient health while helping create a comfortable and welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
The Dental Hygienist is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for providing preventative dental care, patient education, and treatment under the direction of a dentist. This role focuses on maintaining oral health, identifying potential oral issues, and supporting overall patient well-being in a safe, professional, and compassionate environment.

- Time management and organizational skills to manage patient schedules efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including medical histories, oral health evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Perform scaling, root planning, prophylaxis, and other preventative dental procedures.
- Take and interpret dental radiographs as permitted under Ontario regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, nutrition, and lifestyle factors affecting oral health.
- Identify early signs of dental disease and collaborate with the dentist for treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, sterilization, and safety procedures.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Dental Hygienist with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO).
- Diploma or degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Current certification in CPR (Basic Life Support) and other required health and safety certifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide compassionate care.
- Familiarity with dental software and electronic patient records is an asset.
Work Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a dental clinic environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive manual tasks.
- Exposure to potential hazards such as infectious materials, dental instruments, and cleaning chemicals; strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
- Collaborative team environment with support staff, dentists, and administrative personnel.
- You must be fully permitted to live and work in either Canada
Pay Transparency Note:
While a salary range is provided for this role, final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
