Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking, following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.
Responsibilities

Daily Duties include heating food, preparing vegetables and starches, cutting fruit, portioning, dishwashing, and delivering food to the classrooms.

Assist the Chef in preparing meals, baking and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.

Ensure proper food storage and disposal, maintain temperature logs, and comply with all health regulations and best practices.

Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.

Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.

Duties and responsibilities may evolve depending on the daycare center’s needs.
What you need

Ability to work Monday to Friday, 6 hours a day (11:30 am to 5:30 pm)

1–2 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.

High School diploma or GED required.

Current Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it.

Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.

Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.

Strong communication skills.

A clean criminal record check is required.

Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.
