Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious DZ Driver to join our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials while providing excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations.
Location: North York
Pay: $26-$27/hr
Shift: 7 am to 4pm (Shifts may be extended as required based on operational needs)
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies.
- Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements.
- Secure, transport, and deliver skids of tile and slabs safely, ensuring all materials arrive accurately, on schedule, and free from damage.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including delivery records, manifests, vehicle inspection reports, and other related paperwork.
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch and management regarding delivery schedules, route changes, delays, or any operational concerns.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with custom
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and general material handling duties as needed to support daily operations.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario DZ Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of commercial driving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario traffic laws, commercial driving regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Experience performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate driver logs and required documentation.
- Knowledge of proper load securement techniques and safe material handling procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify, report, and communicate vehicle maintenance concerns.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, clients, and the public.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret delivery manifests, invoices, and route instructions.
- Must be able to operate a 10-speed manual transmission truck.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently while meeting delivery schedules.
