About the role -
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Deposits, the Director, Oaken Financial & Consumer Deposits leads Fairstone Bank’s direct-to-consumer deposit business - Oaken Financial - and the full suite of consumer savings products, including registered and non-registered High-Interest Savings (HISAs), GICs, transactional banking and money movements products offered to Canadians nationwide.
Strategy & Growth
- Define and lead the product vision and roadmap for Oaken Financial, including HISA, GICs, registered products, and everyday banking solutions
- Shape the long-term deposit and funding strategy in partnership with senior leadership, aligning with balance sheet and lending goals
- Evolve the customer value proposition, focusing on acquisition, retention, and deposit growth
- Use data, segmentation, and market insights to prioritize high-impact growth opportunities
- Act as a subject matter expert in payments and money movement (Interac e-Transfer, EFT, Bill Pay, RTR, Open Banking)
Product & Experience Delivery
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle - from ideation to launch and continuous optimization
- Partner with Technology, UX, and Marketing to deliver best-in-class digital banking experiences
- Translate business strategy into clear product requirements, roadmaps, and delivery plans
- Lead agile execution, backlog prioritization, and iterative product improvements
Business Performance & P&L Ownership
- Own and deliver financial performance across Oaken Financial and consumer deposits
- Lead deposit pricing strategy in partnership with Treasury and Finance
- Drive growth across balances, retention, profitability, and customer segments
- Oversee performance across digital and physical channels, including the Oaken store network
- Provide data-driven insights and executive reporting to senior leadership
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop a high-performing team ( approx. 10 FTEs) across product, performance, and channel management
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Digital, Finance, Treasury, Operations, Risk, and Technology
- Align closely with peer leaders to deliver end-to-end customer and product transformation
- Foster a customer-first, outcome-driven culture focused on accountability and innovation
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all products and processes align with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to maintain strong governance across deposits and payments
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience in product management, digital banking, or consumer banking leadership
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant financial designation is an asset
- Proven success owning and scaling consumer financial products in a regulated environment
- Strong experience with P&L management, pricing strategy, and revenue growth
- Deep understanding of consumer deposits, payments, and banking economics (NII, retention, funding mix)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and agile product delivery at scale
- Strong knowledge of payments and money movement ecosystems (e.g., Interac, EFT/ACH, RTR, Open Banking)
- Demonstrated ability to combine strategy, analytics, and execution to deliver measurable impact

What you can expect - pay & process:
- Expected base salary range is $130,000 - $160,000 , plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
