Kitchen Designer Position.
Ottawa Valley Kitchens has been designing and manufacturing quality cabinetry since 1983. We understand that all positions in our company are equally important and by working as a unified group we can design and build exceptional products for our customers to enjoy.
Our system is based on a hybrid catalog/custom approach so our designers can create truly unique designs and still sell at competitive market rates. We work with builders, renovators and direct retail customers. Our showroom and factory are together which provides the opportunity for design and production staff to communicate easily to ensure projects meet our client’s expectations.
The role of a Designer at Ottawa Valley Kitchens
- meet prospective clients in showroom and/or virtually and through discussion qualify customer requirements and scope.
- guide clients through the design process and explain features and benefits of our product lines.
- lay out cabinetry designs and plan work and present to clients with quotations.
- help clients select styles and finishes for cabinetry, hardware, countertops, etc.
- site measure for proposed cabinetry prior to production and detail plan work to be submitted for orders.
- walk clients through the company’s order, delivery, installation procedures and explain site requirements with supporting documents for clients to follow.
-assist clients with after sales and installation questions.
Qualifications for the position
- minimum of 2 years’ experience in kitchen and bath design and sales.
- experience with cabinet design software such as 20/20, Cabnetware or equivalent.
- attention to detail, excellent listening skills, and strong organizational skills.
- ability to work independently and also effectively within a team environment.
- time management is very important handling multiple quotes/orders at different stages of sales cycle.
- successful completion of a design program.
- strong ablility to communicate both written and orally.
- access to a vehicle, valid drivers’ license and willing to travel to project site locations.

Pay: $55,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
