The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association (SFFA) is committed to supporting foster families and creating nurturing environments for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Domestic Support Worker to assist with housekeeping and organization with foster families. This is a Casual position with potential for additional hours in the future.
Position Overview:
As a Domestic Support Worker, you will play an integral role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe home environment. You will be responsible for performing various housekeeping tasks, ensuring that all areas of the home are well-maintained and organized. The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, be able to work independently, and take pride in keeping the home clean and orderly.
As a Childcare Worker at SFFA, you will play a key role in supporting the daily care and well-being of children in a foster home. Your responsibilities will include a combination of childcare, light housekeeping, and assisting with transportation for family visits or outings. Given the dynamic nature of this role, flexibility and adaptability are essential to meet the evolving needs of the children and the family.
Key Responsibilities:

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the home.

Manage kitchen duties, including sanitizing countertops, cupboards, tables, and chairs, and organizing within cupboards, pantry, and refrigerator.

Clean and maintain kitchen appliances, such as cooking ranges, dishwashers, and microwaves.

Empty waste bins and garbage cans.

Dust living areas, including window blinds and interior windows.

Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and sinks.

Sanitize common surfaces throughout the home, including door handles, baseboards, and walls.

Wash, fold, and put away laundry.

Accurately document tasks completed.

Provide attentive, high-quality childcare in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized home.

Coordinate and facilitate transportation for family visits, outings, and appointments.

Offer emotional and practical support to children and youth, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.

Maintain effective communication with team members, foster families, and other relevant stakeholders.

Adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries while interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Criminal Record Check (inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check).

Valid Driver’s License.

Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices.

Ability to read and follow instructions.

Understanding of safety practices when using cleaning agents.

Previous job experience in house cleaning, commercial property cleaning, or hotel cleaning is preferred.
