About the role.
McCain Foods (Canada) is currently looking for Material Graders - Potato Storages to join our team. Reporting directly to the Valley Farms Manager, this role supports the safe and timely storage of potatoes during the harvest season in a fast-paced team environment.
What you’ll be doing.

Follow all safety requirements, JHA’s, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and Critical Control Points (CCP’s).

Handle materials up to 25 kg and assist with the timely process of storing potatoes.

Sort, rack, and remove foreign material from potatoes.

Assist with cleaning and preparation of storage buildings, equipment areas, and work areas.

Place culverts in potato storages for ventilation and direct farm trucks for unloading.

Assist with light maintenance on equipment and storage buildings.

Collect and process potato samples and record quality information, as required.

Work in a combination of inside and outside environments and participate in team meetings, as required.

Complete additional duties as assigned.

Work hours will vary depending on weather conditions and may range from 40 to 60 hours per week, with weekend work required during peak harvest season.
What you’ll need to be successful.

Grade 12 education or GED.

Ability to work well with storage supervision and storage employees.

Team player with excellent attendance.

Demonstrated continuous initiative and involvement.

Highly motivated and observant, with good initiative and a positive attitude.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Good safety record and a continual “safety first” mindset.

An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate’s suitability for the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.

Compensation Package: Starting at $19.00 CAD hourly
