Position Overview
As a Slide Attendant & Tower Host, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, fun, and memorable experience for guests at Malahat SkyWalk. This dual-role position involves overseeing the operation of the spiral slide, engaging with guests at the top of the tower, and providing helpful information about the attraction. This role is vital in providing a positive experience for all guests while ensuring their safety and well being throughout their visit.
Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)
In this role, you will:
Slide Attendant Duties

Ensure all guests using the slide follow safety rules, including height requirements and behaviour standards.

Monitor the slide and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety and smooth operations.

Enforce safety rules while maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude.

Assist guests in entering and exiting the slide safely.

Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of the slide and surrounding areas.

Communicate with team members and management regarding any safety concerns or maintenance needs.

Support other Malahat SkyWalk departments as needed to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Other duties as assigned.
Tower Host Duties

Welcome guests to the SkyWalk tower and offer information about the structure, surrounding landscapes, and local history.

Ensure guests feel comfortable and safe while enjoying the view from the tower.

Answer questions and provide recommendations about the SkyWalk experience and other local attractions.

Assist in crowd management and ensure a smooth flow of visitors at peak times.

Support guests with accessibility needs or any special requests.

Support emergency response procedures, including first aid when necessary.

Support other Malahat SkyWalk departments as needed to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Abilities and Qualifications To excel in this role, you should demonstrate:

Friendly, outgoing, and customer service-oriented personality.

Ability to engage with guests of all ages.
-
Physically demanding role must be comfortable standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a friendly professional attitude.

Capacity to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Asset Qualifications
The following qualifications are not mandatory; however, they are preferred and will be considered assets:

Previous experience in customer service, recreation, or tourism is an asset but not required.

Proficiency in a second language.

Basic First Aid (OFA Level 1).
Work Conditions

This position requires flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Cross-training in other departments will be required to support the overall guest experience at Malahat SkyWalk. You will also be required to learn about our location, its history, foliage and geography, etcetera in order to answer questions from our guests.
- This position requires working in variable weather conditions.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Position Type: Part Time / Casual On-Call
