Direct Bore Inc. is currently hiring an Aerial Lead Hand Lineman to join our growing telecommunications construction team. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone with experience in aerial fibre construction, pole line work, and utility infrastructure.
The successful candidate will help lead aerial crews with the installation, maintenance, and construction of telecommunications infrastructure throughout Eastern and Central Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support aerial telecommunications crews in the field
- Install, place, tension, lash, and secure aerial fibre optic cable
- Install strand, anchors, down guys, clamps, brackets, risers, snowshoes, and other aerial hardware
- Assist with pole transfers, cable relocations, make-ready work, overlash, delash, and slack storage
- Work safely from bucket trucks, ladders, and climbing gear
- Perform pole climbing using spurs when required
- Read and follow construction drawings, work plans, and project specifications
- Identify field conflicts, clearance issues, safety concerns, and report them to the Project Manager
- Support safe work zone setup, traffic control, material tracking, and daily crew coordination
- Operate company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment safely
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel as required
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ Driver’s License required
- Previous aerial telecommunications, hydro, utility, or pole line construction experience required
- Experience working from bucket trucks and/or climbing poles
- Comfortable working at heights
- Knowledge of aerial fibre construction, strand placement, lashing, hardware, and cable management
- Ability to read construction drawings and field work plans
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support crew members in the field
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labour
- Safety-conscious, reliable, and hardworking
- Ability to travel and stay out of town when required

Pay: $32.55-$36.70 per hour
