Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing logging and forestry equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations in the field and shop.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues on logging equipment
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on forestry equipment including processors, skidders, loaders, bunchers, and trucks
- Complete regular inspections and maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the field and shop
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies as required
- Work independently and as part of a team in remote and outdoor environments
Qualifications
· Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification preferred
· Experience working on logging, forestry, or heavy equipment required
· Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
· Valid driver’s license required
· Ability to work flexible hours and travel to field locations when needed
· Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
· Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions
