We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and
organized operation of our grain terminal. This position is responsible for overseeing
day-to-day terminal activities, coordinating employees and resources, maintaining high
safety standards, and ensuring grain is received, stored, handled, and shipped
efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a safety-focused, highly organized, and adaptable leader who
can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. They will play a
key role in building a positive work culture where employees feel respected, supported,
accountable, and committed to working safely as a team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
● Lead and oversee the daily operations of the grain terminal, including grain
receiving, handling, storage, blending, loading, and shipping.
● Maintain a strong safety-first culture, ensuring all employees follow company
policies, safe work procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best
practices.
● Conduct and support safety meetings, inspections, hazard assessments, incident
investigations, and corrective actions.
● Provide effective leadership, direction, coaching, and training to terminal
employees.
● Organize daily work activities, staffing, equipment, and priorities to ensure
operations run safely and efficiently.
● Multi-task and make sound decisions while managing changing priorities,
operational demands, equipment issues, weather conditions, and customer
requirements.
● Monitor grain quality, inventory levels, storage conditions, and movement to
ensure product integrity and accurate records.
● Coordinate truck, rail, and other grain movements to meet shipping and receiving
schedules.
● Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and coordinate
preventative maintenance and repairs.
● Work closely with maintenance, logistics, administration, quality, and
management teams to resolve operational issues.
● Maintain accurate operational, inventory, safety, and maintenance records.
● Monitor productivity, costs, and operational performance while identifying
opportunities for improvement.
● Ensure the terminal remains clean, organized, and compliant with housekeeping
standards.
● Support emergency preparedness and respond appropriately to operational,
safety, or environmental incidents.
● Foster a positive, respectful, team-oriented work environment built on
communication, accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
● Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, reliability, strong
communication, and a commitment to safety.
● Perform other duties as required to support the successful operation of the
terminal.
