As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings. These positions requires dedicated individuals who are committed to fostering independence and promoting dignity for those served. These positions requires these candidates to work days, evenings, overnights, weekdays & weekends.
Duties
- Assist persons served with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication intake.
- Support people in maintaining a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage people in social activities and encourage participation to enhance their social skills and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report any changes in persons behavior or health status to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Skills
- Experience in caregiving or home care settings is preferred, with knowledge of dementia care being a significant asset.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and the ability to provide compassionate end-of-life support.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with persons served, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for mobility assistance.
- Attention to detail in medication administration and adherence to safety protocols.
- A clean background check is essential for this role, ensuring the safety of all served.
