The Friends is recruiting Community Support Assistants in the Parry Sound area to provide support in our various programs.
Community Support Assistants provide service to individuals in their home with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to gain/maintain independence.
Some of the things we are looking for in the successful candidate are:
*must live in the district of Parry Sound
* PSW or equivalent experience
* vehicle and driver's license are required
* the ability to work both with direction and independently
* strong and demonstrated understanding of verbal and written communication skills
* sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
* experience and willingness to work as a team member which includes attendance and punctuality
* excellent physical strength and stamina

*There is a $3/hour wage enhancement that is included in the wage range listed
above.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to preference.
- Medication cueing and assistance
- light housekeeping duties.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving.
- Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities or seniors
- Knowledge of basic meal preparation is beneficial.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
