SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Supervisor is responsible for leading airport operations staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery. This role oversees daily activities, manages team performance, enforces company policies, and supports operational excellence across assigned departments. The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining safety standards, enhancing customer service, and driving continuous improvement within airport operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and lead airport staff, including ground crew, customer service representatives, and maintenance personnel
- Ensure safe and efficient airport operations in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Provide hands-on leadership and support to promote teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence
- Manage staff schedules, assignments, and workload distribution to optimize operational efficiency
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and operational updates
- Train and onboard new employees, ensuring proper instruction and safety orientation
- Enforce company policies and procedures, addressing non-compliance issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, performance evaluations, and incident reporting
- Collaborate with other airport departments to coordinate operations and resolve challenges
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and timely resolution
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive coaching to team members
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives
- Ensure equipment and vehicles are properly maintained to prevent operational downtime
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of supplies
- Assist with budget preparation and cost control efforts
- Monitor compliance with security procedures and report incidents or breaches
- Participate in emergency response and crisis management activities as required
- Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage reporting of hazards and concerns
- Stay informed of industry developments and best practices to support continuous improvement
- Serve as a liaison to senior management, providing updates on operational performance and challenges
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
- Apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Work effectively in an airport environment around aircraft and moving equipment
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Must possess a valid, provincially issued permanent driver’s license (e.g., Class 5 or Class G)
- Must hold a current Transport Canada RAIC and a valid DA AVOP certification.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including written documentation
- Must have reliable transportation
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced airport environment
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence

- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to reach with hands and arms; grasp, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms in a terminal or airside environment
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
