With your “think like a guest, act like an owner” mentality, you have a passion for ensuring every guest stay is memorable. Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Night Auditor plays a vital role in managing the overnight front desk operations, creating a quality guest experience.
This position requires the candidate to work 3 afternoon shifts at our Front Desk and 2 nights per week (plus any vacation coverage) on the overnight shift from 11:00 pm-7:00 am. Previous customer service experience is required, and candidate must enjoy working with people. As this position involves basic accounting, the applicant should have experience in or an aptitude for basic accounting principles. Previous computer experience and night shift work experience is necessary and prior night audit experience an asset.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Accurately completing end of day procedures according to Bellstar policies & procedures
- Greeting all guests and owners in a friendly and professional manner
- Preparing various reports for management & accounting department
- Accurately run end of day closing operations for applicable business units
- Balancing debit and credit transactions
- Processing check in and check out according to Bellstar procedures
- Preparing arrival documents
- Creating reservations and processing special requests
- Handling all guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner, keeping the appropriate Manager informed or involving Manager as needed
- Being knowledgeable of all hotel facilities and services and community events
- Provide accurate and compelling tourist and destination information to guests and owners
- Handling financial transactions including cash, debit, and credit tenders, with confidentiality in mind
- Always maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring front desk is always stocked with office supplies
- Complying with all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- Other relevant and related duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- 1 year of front desk experience, preference given to those with overnight experience
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Committed to delivering the highest level of guest service and satisfaction
- Experience in basic accounting principles
- Ability to productively work unsupervised, maintaining a constant sense of urgency
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including over nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
The “nice to haves”:
- Education in Hotel/Hospitality Management, or Accounting
- Prior night audit experience
- Valid certification in First Aid
